WorkConnect Success Story

Sam had been unemployed for almost a year due to health problems. Sam was worried about returning to work due to issues they had experienced in the past because of their chronic illness. When it came to resuming their employment journey, Sam was unsure of where to start as they didn’t know which employers could make accommodations for them. Despite the barriers they faced, and anxiety they felt about returning to work, Sam decided to reach out to WorkConnect.

Sam began to meet with a Career Advisor on a weekly basis where they discussed Sam’s goals such as building a solid resume and cover letter, and gaining confidence answering interview questions. Frequent meetings with their Career Advisor kept Sam motivated, and on track to tackle various barriers to employment. Sam also found it helpful meeting with their Job Developer where they helped them refine their job search and target the right employment opportunities.

Once Sam was employed full time, they maintained communication with WorkConnect which offered continuous support. Sam appreciated the ongoing support throughout their employment journey, and felt proud of all they achieved through their employment journey with WorkConnect.
