The Service
The support you can access depends on your career situation. We work with you to understand your goals and help you find your next job or training opportunity. Support includes one-on-one coaching with your Career Advisor and Job Developer, group workshops available both in person and online, paid training, work-related financial supports, and paid work experience. You will also have 24/7 access to helpful resources on the Employable Me platform.
WorkConnect connects you with your own dedicated Career Advisor to support you at every step of your journey. The coaching helps you refine your career goals, connect with other community supports, and present your skills effectively to employers.

We are able to provide funding for certain types of training, depending on your situation. If you have the right skills and only need a specific type of training, such as First Aid or ProServe, to meet the requirements of a job, we can support you.
We can only fund training courses that are no longer than two weeks if taken full-time, or six weeks if taken part-time. All training must lead directly to an employment offer or be requested by an employer as part of a job offer.
Yes. We help you identify the skills you have that can be transferred into other fields and then help you identify jobs that would be a good fit for you. We also have access to up-to-date labour market information that will give you the inside track on who is hiring now.
Everyone is different, and the type of support you need may vary. Once you’ve registered, we’ll work with you to agree on a schedule of appointments and workshops. On average, we expect you’ll communicate with us at least once a week. You can speak with your Career Advisor in person, via email, phone, or Microsoft Teams.
A recruitment agency is hired directly by employers to find applicants suitable for their job openings. We are not hired by employers to help them fill their job vacancies. WorkConnect is an employment service designed to support you in finding new employment opportunities. We’ve built strong connections with employers throughout the Calgary area to learn about their staffing needs, educate them on inclusive hiring practices, and support your transition to employment. Through these connections, we can help you discover hidden job opportunities that haven’t been advertised.
